DON'T RE-SIGN ROLLINS
Jimmy Rollins will be a free agent in just over a month. Clearly, the Phillies wanted it that way.
Though they may wind up re-signing him, they would be best to move on now. Rollins' legs are too unstable to risk serious cash in him for multiple years, and that will be the going price for his service.
If Phil Rizzuto can be in the Hall of Fame, so can Rollins some day. If so, he will go in as a Phillie.
But that doesn't mean he has to be a Phillie for life. The Phillies shouldn't make the mistake of giving Rollins a new contract for what he did in the past.
BTW: Check out my column in the Daily Times Monday and on delcotimes.com about the greatest era in Phillies history, albeit one rapidly creaking to a close.
